The Rolling Hills RV Park.
(205-668-6893) is next door to the Quality Inn of Calera. It’s a nice full hook up park located behind a church retreat camp that is owned by the Church of the Nazarene. Both The church camp and the RV park are very generous with their hospitality. They have a nice big 12 acre lake next to a grassy field which is perfect for playing with the dogs during off time. The lake is just 100-150 yard walk from the Quality Inn.

The RV park is located about 7 or 8 miles from the show site.

We’ve also negotiated with The City of Alabaster to allow about a dozen or so RVs to dry camp at the show site. There are NO hookups. However, the parking area is just a few feet from the show ring. The gates will not be locked during that week.

The city of Alabaster does maintain a free dump station about 3-4 miles north of The Veteran’s Park. There are water hoses available around Veteran’s Park for filling of potable water tanks if necessary.

There also is an RV repair site – Suncoast RV.( http://www.suncoastrv.com). (205-605-0660) in Calera.
Keep in mind that there is limited hotel space in general for this area and the rooms will book up quickly by the attendees of the all breed event of the following weekend in Columbiana.

There is also a Hampton Inn located in Calera.( 205-668-6565) It is a nice, big hotel but they won’t accept pets in the hotel. I’m sure pets are ok if limited to van crating. I spoke with the owner several times and he just wouldn’t budge on opening up for us.

There is a Days Inn a few miles further south in Calera but it’s a little older and I haven’t had good reports from there. Enough said.
Our alternative hotel, which is about 5 or 6 miles farther from the show site is The Quality Inn of Calera. 205-668-3641. There is no block rate here. This will be a first come first serve hotel. It’s a nice hotel but the manager wouldn’t open a block of rooms without a credit card guarantee of all the block rooms up front. They also allow pets. This hotel is about 4-5 miles closer to the all-breed show site of the following weekend shows in Columbiana, AL..
Candlewood Suites of Alabaster
Their local number is 205-620-0188
or toll free nationwide at 888-226-3539.
We have a block of about 45 rooms that
may not be enough but they will open up
more rooms at the block rate as the demand
requires and the supply lasts.

Our block code is “RDC”.
The Candlewood is a business class hotel
featuring rooms that host a small living area,
nice bedroom and a small galley including
a cook top.

Pets are obviously allowed for a fee.
The cut off date for reserving at a block rate
is March 20, 2011.
